About Your Counselor
Meet Jessica
Alaska has been home since 1992, when the Air Force stationed my parents here. I’m also honored to be Dena’ina Athabaskan and the wife of a paramedic-turned-nurse.
I love Alaska and all that it has to offer, especially the mountains. I enjoy learning new things, getting involved in my community, and spending time with my family.
After being a stay-at-home mom for 11 years, I felt called to serve my community through mental health counseling.
Colorado Christian University gave me a high-quality education in clinical mental health counseling and a faith-informed clinical identity in practice. As your counselor, you will work with someone who has a wide range of life experiences and who values professionalism.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is an integrated model of faith-informed counseling, utilizing evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Other therapies may be integrated depending on your needs and receptiveness to techniques. I work collaboratively with you to help you meet your therapeutic goals.
